Rock Out Hunger on September 21st at the Gazebo

A request from MHSAA vice president Paul Deluca:

Hello Everybody,

If you are also on my friend list this will be repetitive but I want to share something with all of you and ask if you can help me in helping the Food Cupboard in Medfield. This is not a MHSAA program but we all grew up here and who better to step up and help when help is needed.

Here is the situation:
I had a sobering conversation with Beth Eby who is President of the Medfield Food Cupboard and was saddened to hear they are almost at crisis mode after a long summer. She explained how with kids out of school, there is a larger demand and with people on vacation, there are less donations. The equation makes painfully perfect sense to me. To make matters worse, they had a freezer breakdown and they lost over $1,000 in frozen food.

What I would like you to consider is making a donation. Here is their address:

Medfield Food Cupboard
496 Main St Medfield, MA 02052
Attention: Beth Eby

And if you are going to send a check please put MHS class of (your year) in the memo.

I think that will be a cool way to show Beth how we support their efforts. All donations go to stocking the shelves.

I would also like to invite you to a fundraising concert I am putting on Sept. 21st at the Gazebo* in Medfield center. “Rock out Hunger” will have three great bands. Ted Larkin Band, Lansing Station and Soul’d Out a hot Jazz Ensemble made up current MHS Students. Plus the ever popular guest to be named later.

It is September 21st from 7:30-10:00. The 21st also happens to be Medfield day so it could be a good reason to come back to town for a walk through Medfield day, hang out at the new Starbucks till the show starts. Use the event to get together with your friends you do not see that often.
Tickets are a $10.00 donation at the Gate and we ask that you also bring a non-perishable food donation.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and considering helping out. I really hope that we see a lot of you at the event.

*The Gazebo is next to the Medfield Public Library, where St Edwards Church used to be located.
