On Saturday, March 1, at the American Legion on Peter Kristof Way, the Medfield High School (MHS) Alumni Association will host its third annual Trivia Night, a fundraiser for the scholarships given out every spring to graduating Medfield High seniors.

This year’s scholarships will be given in memory of long time MHS teacher Elaine Pederzini (1929-1971) and long time high school teacher and golf coach, George Callahan, who died this past year. Previous scholarships were given in memory of Estelle Stahl, Susan Pope, and Madeline Greene.

Here is your chance to match wits with Medfield natives, Medfield High Alumni and newcomers alike. The event kicks off at 7 p.m., and the game will begin at 7:30. The last round will end at 10:15 p.m. Cash prizes will be given to tables placing first, second, and third.

If purchased in advance of the day of the event, the cost of each ticket will be $20 or $150 for a table of 10. On the night of the event, the cost of each ticket will be $25 or $200 for a table of 10. You may purchase a table for you and your classmates or friends, or you may purchase a single ticket and sit at a table with other singles.

Tables are encouraged to join in the new tradition of table-gating, where tables bring their own theme foods. Otherwise snacks will be provided and the Legion’s cash bar will be open.

Tickets will be on sale at Park Street Books and Toys on 504 Main Street. You may also purchase advance tickets by contacting Georganne Iverson at georg8069@ aol.com or by mailing a check to MHSAA, 38 Spring Street, Medfield, MA 02052.

Trivia will cover a wide range of topics, including arts and entertainment, TV, sports, geography, news and current events, and popculture. There will also be questions about the history of Medfield courtesy of local historian and Medfield High alum Richard DeSorgher.
